Where's my Sound ???
Here’s a Handy little tip I just figured out today. So I have a button that plays sound and once if finishes playing it should fire the Event.SOUND_COMPLETE. In this events handler, it resets the position back to the beginning of the clip. Now the problem is once I try to play it again, it doesn’t seem to fire the Event.SOUND_COMPLETE event. Have you ever had the issue of your...

Cool Flash Tip of the Week 4
I know last week I said we will be learning about a custom class, but I think I’ll hold that one for next week. This week we are going to check out a quick and useful tip that I didn’t even know about until a couple of days ago for selecting XML and XMLList nodes. This won’t be as in depth as the last, but I still think its a great quick tip. We will be testing on this XML...

New XMLLoader 3.0 Release
I have finally gotten around to updating the XMLLoader Class now, in its 3rd Release. With this release comes a couple new properties such as bytesLoaded, bytesTotal, totalItems, currentItem and ratioLoaded. The biggest update is the new naming feature. With this feature you can now give each XML file a name to reference it. Also in the big boat of updates is the new way of handling errors. The...

AS3 Basic Preloader Class
I been thinking of ways to preload things in AS3 like you would in AS2. Meaning a simple drag and drop and it preloads. I unfortunately couldn’t come to a solution of just drag and drop. But I have gotten pretty damn close. Last night I started working on a Basic Preloader Class in which I can build more complex preloaders off of. Just like some of the classes in my VIdeoPlayer API, the Base...

TweenLite Family and gTween Are Getting Married

I myself am looking forward to this union. I never had the chance to use gTween alone...

Javascript and Actionscript Conversation
This weekend my good friend Peter Panton asked my for some help setting up some communication between Javascript and Actionscript. I did some research and came across the ExternalInterface Class. It took me a while...

Here’s a project I had to do for my Multimedia Design Class. We needed to pick a subject that is up for debate. I decided to do Mac vs PC, seemed to be more fun than smoking or something like that. I went for a fun UI approach and make it like a desktop. Click on the icons and a window pops up that you can drag around, minimize, etc. It was a pretty fun project. Best of all I got an A!!!!!!....

XMLLoader 2.0 Update***
